On Empowering The Young Women Of South Africa

The Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) Programme offers an age-tailored combination prevention package for adolescent girls and young women. The programme with the aim of reducing HIV incidence, teenage pregnancy, and gender-based violence and to encourage girls to stay in school and have access to economic opportunities. This is aligned with South Africa’s National Support Plan, prioritizes AGYW aged 15 to24, tracking indicators on new infections, condom use, pre-exposure prophylaxis, and gender-based violence (GBV).

With our Biometric Enrollment System, eSoftware Solutions has been able to reach countless women aged 15-24 and accomplish the following:

·       Accelerate prevention to reduce new HIV, TB, and STI related infections.

·       Reach all key and vulnerable populations with customized and targeted interventions.

·       Address the social and structural drivers of HIV, TB and STIs, linking these efforts tothe National Development Plan (NDP).

The key interventions provided to the AGYW comprises a comprehensive package of health, education, and support services for delivery through schools and in communities within a number of South African districts. These districts were selected based on a determination that the AGYW living in them were among those with the highest HIV incidence inSouth Africa.
